This painting was inspired by the idea of time travel. I wanted all the colors to come together in a way that feels like different pieces of time are all happening at once. The blues blacks whites and greys all move in different directions almost like memories and thoughts that are hard to control. I put the clock inside of his head because his mind is stuck in time. He is thinking about the past the present and the future all at once. The arrow is pointing back because the future feels like too much for him to live in so he wants to go back to the past. This piece is about feeling trapped in time and wanting to escape back to a moment that felt easier.
