I named this piece “TRIO BY TRIO” because to me it feels like three different friends who somehow fit perfectly together. Each one has their own personality their own emotions and their own energy. They aren’t supposed to be the same and I think that’s what makes the piece more meaningful. Some of the best friendships come from people who are completely different from you because everyone brings something different to the group. One person might be more outgoing one might be more quiet and another might see things in a completely different way. But when they all come together it just works. To me TRIO BY TRIO is really about how being different doesn’t mean being disconnected. You can come from different places think differently and carry different emotions and still have a strong bond with someone. I wanted the three characters to feel like they each have their own story but when you see them together they become one complete group. Their differences are what give the friendship personality and make the trio what it is.
